I've been catching a different bus to work for the past few weeks (the 8.17am No. 23). Normally I don't catch a No.23 bus, but that fateful day a few weeks ago, I decided to walk to a different bus stop, for a change of scenery.

What a fortuitous moment.

Standing there at the bus stop was Wentworth Miller.

Okay not Mr
Prison Break himself, but certainly a guy who looked exactly like him. Seriously. I do not lie.

Talk about cute! And hot. And sex-aay.

So, I sat behind him on the bus and watched which stop he got off the bus at (Willis Street) and have done so every day since.

Last night I left work early and caught the 5.23pm No.23 home again and as luck would have it, Wentworth was on the bus! I sat behind him again (lovely neck) and when he got off at the bus stop, I followed him watching for which house he was going to go into. Unfortunately, he turned right at the corner and I needed to turn left, so I have no idea which house he went into. Bugger it. It was then that I realised I'd turned into some crazy batshit weirdo stalker!

Cool. Always wanted to know if I ever had the potential to turn into a bunny boiler LOL.

Friday 26 May

Alcohol units: 5, Tim Tams: 0 (excellent!), Pods: 29 (oops).

7.20pm. At home. Early onset of spinsterhood is inevitable, as I find myself eagerly anticipating a quiet night in front of the telly.

7.23pm. Gosh, Carol Hirschfeld's hair is looking a bit tatty. I guess now that she no longer reads the news, she can let the ends look ratty.

7.32pm. Oh, America's Next Top Model is on. Yay.

7.35pm. I can't get over how skinny these girls are. Perhaps if I stopped pigging out on Pods, my legs would be that thin.

7.36pm. God I love Pods.

7.40pm. Phone's ringing. Am not going to answer it, as I don't want whoever it is to know that I'm a sad cow at home on a Friday night watching ANTM.

Saturday 27 May

Alcohol units: 19 (v bad, but was commiserating), Cigarettes: 2 (good), Minutes of Super 14 final actually seen: 7 (what the hell?)

7.45pm. At pub. Trying to watch the Super 14 final between the Canterbury Crusaders and the Wellington Hurricanes (go the 'canes!), but am having great difficulty watching it on the big screen - and no, not due to alcohol induced blurry eyed vision - but a blanket of fog that descended on the ground, making it impossible to watch the game. V annoying.

7.48pm. Am just going to drink wine, as is pointless trying to watch the telly.

8.07pm. Hmm, I think I prefer the pinot gris.

8.22pm. Toilets are unisex. Not sure if that's a good thing.

9.05pm. Hurricane's lost 19-12 (bugger). Drinks are on the lone Crusader supporter (excellent!).

Sunday 28 May

Alcohol units: 2 (good), Tim Tams: 4 (not good)

5.15pm. In kitchen. I am a domestic goddess! Move over Nigella. There's a new plump brunette cook in town! Have just put a rack of lamb (first piece of red meat I will have in months, if not this year) in fridge to marinate for a bit. I'm going to have artichoke lemon potato salad with it. Yum.

6.20pm. Erm. Only have marinated artichokes, wonder if that's okay?

6.30pm. Feel very 'cheffy', as I have just seared the lamb and am now roasting it. Smells heavenly. Even if I do feel a little guilty about eating a cute, white, fluffy baby lamb.

6.50pm. Lamb done. Am about to plate up (definitely sound like a chef now!).

6.51pm. Hmm, salad looks grey-ish. Must be the artichokes.

6.55pm. Tastes good!

7.17pm. All gone. Feel very full now.

7.19pm. Could do with a Tim Tam though.

I've spent the last two and a half days at home with a terrible headache, nausea and neck pain.

The nausea was so bad on Tuesday, that I spent about 3 hours in the bathroom puking (did you know, raspberry jelly and cashew nuts don't taste that great coming back up? Blech). Wednesday I woke up feeling better, but got that rolling stomach and watery mouth thing quite quickly and spent the day hovering close to the bathroom.

I couldn't even blob out and be sick properly on Wednesday*, as I had a house full of electricians installing a new oven (bye bye old gas oven, hello modern electric) as well as putting in new hotpoints around the flat. However, I'm a bit annoyed with the electricians - I showed them exactly where I wanted the hotpoints and they nodded and said, yep, we'll put them there and then proceeded to install them on the complete other side of the fucking room! Bloody morons. So now I have four hotpoints on ONE side of a room, right next to each other. Oh yeah, that works well!

Today I'm not feeling too bad, so am at the office inflicting my raspberry jelly and cashew nuts puke stories on people. I know, I'm so classy.

*this entails watching Ellen, Oprah, Martha Stewart and SpongeBob Squarepants while lazing on the couch in my pajamas.

A better way to spend two hours and $14 is to go and see, what I think is one of the best films I’ve seen this year.

The Beat That My Heart Skipped is a wonderful French film, a compelling and edgy thriller with enthralling characters including Romain Duris, who plays lead character, Tom – gangster by day, would-be concert pianist by night. 4/5.

I adore French and Italian films, love smaller, independent films. You can guarantee that films critics rave about and audiences loathe will be ones that I enjoy (case in point The Royal Tenenbaums - loved that one!). It’s probably safe to say I’m a bit of a film snob – I try and avoid over-hyped, over-produced Hollywood films, I won’t be seeing Mission Impossible 3, Poseidon or X-Men 3. But I do make concessions from time to time - I did see King Kong (*yawn*) and I will be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 LOL.

I think I also expect quite a lot from a film. Not only do I want interesting characters, a good plot, but I also look at the cinematography and art direction. Oh and I'm also one of those people that spots continuity errors and annoys their friends by talking about them ad nauseum. It's a skill you know!

The Da Vinci Code

I thought it was staid and the pacing was slow. No chemistry between Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou (and what was up with Tom's greasy mullet?). I was bored. 2/5.

Last night as I walked downtown to meet a friend for a few drinks, I noticed quite a few people in academic dress walking towards the Michael Fowler Centre for graduation (either Victoria or Massey University).

It is ten years since I graduated. Ten! Can't believe how long ago that is. I was young, full of hope, grandeoise ideas and sure that the perfect job was going to fall in my lap. I had a BA in Politics! I was going to set this city alight!

Funny how things work out.

I ended up being unemployed for over a year, living with my parents, watching a lot of Oprah, General Hospital and hanging out with my sister, who was a young mum at the time. I had no motivation to get a job at all. I'm surprised I didn't drive my parents spare, but they were very cool about it all. No pressure to get a job at all. The only thing they asked me to do was clean the house and do the grocery shopping each week. Though my dad did say that my BA degree stood for "bugger all" due to the fact that I had no discernable skills and no real interest in going into poliltics LOL.

In the end it all worked out fine. I scrapped together some money and spent 6 years travelling the world (and watching my student load skyrocket with the compounding interest LOL). I came home and after a few years of crap jobs, I finally found a job that I adore, for an organisation that works closing with policy makers and government departments.

I knew that BA in Politics would come in handy one day.

So the person who leaked confidential cabinet papers to his friend at Telecom has been named - Michael Ryan, a messenger in the department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. He was meant to shred the sensitive document (which outlined the governments plans to unbundle the local loop), instead he took it home and then handed it to his friend who worked for Telecom, who then took it to Telecom's legal counsel.

Can you imagine being the person who caused this country’s largest and most profitable business to lose 2 billion dollars? I wonder if his Telecom phone charges will suddenly increase?

And in other news... I did a major cock-up at work today. Obviously my head isn't capable of handing the most simplest of tasks, which is why I think I made this major boo-boo. Fuck it. I hate making mistakes.

So my weekend sucked majorly. You know that good work news that the boyfriend had last week? Well, what he failed to mention was that this project means he is leaving the country for about 9 months, in two weeks time.

I'm annoyed, angry, bitchy and whiny (they sound like four new dwarfs for Snow White).

I haven't spoken or seen him since he told me this news (why yes I'm being immature and petty) because I am still mad. I promised someone that I'd be mad and not sad, 'cos sad makes me fat** LOL.

I'm not going to wait around 9 months for a guy, even this one.

So I'm going to be a single girl - it's gonna be mojitos and drunken shags from now on. Party on Tart!

It is a crappy day here in Wellington. Pouring with rain and cold.

I'm freezing in my office (no heating due to air conditioning not working). If I didn't have such an important meeting today, I'd be at home, in the warmth watching
Good Morning and perving at Brendon Pongia.

I guess the good thing is that it is Friday.

Edited: The heating is on (finally, it's 3.39pm). I was getting worried, my nipples were at a constant alert, I was afraid I'd poke someones eye out.

I went out last night with a friend (went to see Match Point, pretty average film) and during the course of our dinner, I made mention of something, to which my friend replied "I never knew that about you!". Thus inspring today's post.

10 things you might not know about me.

  1. I had sex on the bonnet of a car outside the venue for my surprise 17th birthday party. I know, talk about classy!
  2. I ran away from home for 10 days when I was 15. Big, fun adventure in the city. It was a blast.
  3. I detest mushrooms.
  4. I went to drama school for two years.
  5. I'd love to work on a fashion or lifestyle magazine, mainly because I covet all the freebies.
  6. I hate cats.
  7. I named my 9 year old niece.
  8. I don't collect anything (clothing, shoes and bags don't count).
  9. I am extremely fussy and particular.
  10. I've had 3 marriage proposals.

Four words guaranteed to make me NOT buy a certain item ...

Perfect for Mother's Day

Plus, those words are usually attached to some completely fugly or tragic item. Like a James Blunt CD.

He’s back. The wanker in the park! I was standing in the kitchen this morning and looked up and there he was. Having a good old tug in the park opposite my house. Euw. Dirty dirty boy LOL.

Last night I went shopping with the boyfriend and his credit card. (The BF has had some really good news work wise and wanted to celebrate by buying me things. Who was I to say no?).

I purchased 4 CDs (yes, I am one of those people who still buys CDs. I have yet to join the digital revolution).

Bleeders – As Sweet As Sin

The Green Room 005:Whanau

K.T Tunstall – Eye to the Telescope

Snow Patrol – Eyes Open

This pair of gorgeous Rebecca Sanver “Tommy” heels.

A cute wool beanie and matching mittens!

The BF also purchased a pair of jeans that just make me want to grab his arse! And the new Pearl Jam CD (Eddie Vedder is still hot).

Speaking of clothes, I keep seeing the same things over and over again, in the shops and on people in the street. I’m so over it!

I don’t want to see these anymore:

  • Denim mini, leggings and ballet flat combo

  • Large metal low slung belts

  • Skinny jeans tucked into boots

  • Cargo pants

  • Monogrammed/logo handbags

  • Orange fake tans

  • Striped tops

  • Cowboy boots

Dancing with the Stars 2 starts on Sunday night. I really liked last year’s competition and this year the ‘stars’ are quite interesting.

Beatrice Faumuina – Former Olympic and Commonwealth games athlete (discus)
Angela Bloomfield – Former actress
Christine Rankin – Former CEO of government department WINZ
Lorraine Downes – Former international model and Miss Universe (1983)
Rodney Hide – MP for Epsom, Auckland (ACT party)
Steve Gurney – Indurance athlete (and a bit wacky)
Danyon Loader – Former Olympic and Commonwealth games champion swimmer
David Wikaira-Paul – Actor/Musician

No big plans for the weekend. Tonight I've got a cocktail party at work to celebrate our deputy chairman being appointed the Governor General and a friends birthday party. Will be going to see a movie tomorrow. It definitely won't be Mission Impossible 3. Ugh. I loathe Tom Cruise (jumped up little midget). Not even the lure of PSH can get me to pay $14 to see it.

I went to the library today (took a detour on the way to work).

This is a library that services nearly 500,000 people and overall is a pretty good one. Excellent non-fiction section and their CD/DVD collection is brilliant.

However, I noticed something odd in the chick lit paperback section (which isn't very extensive).

The books were shelved according to colour. Yep. That's right. Colour!

WTF? Every other section is shelved alphabetically.

I tell you, it's bloody difficult looking at rows of books that are all the same colour, they tend to blend together making it tricky to read titles etc.

It's like they decided that they'd put all the pink coloured books together because you know, chick lit readers go for colour first when decided on which book to choose!

I think I'll make a complaint.

I love Ricky Gervais. I found this video podcast of his show "The Ricky Gervais Show".

It's very funny. "It's like bunk beds" LOL.

Edited: Problems with You Tube meant I had to remove the podcast.

It's a slow work day and I'm bored so I thought I'd clean out my handbag (it was either that or filing...a no brainer really).

What a bottomless pit this bag is! For something quite compact, I seem to be able to shove a lot of stuff in. Here's what I found:
  • A5 size diary (spiral bound, softcover)
  • Cellphone
  • Small notebook (spiral bound)
  • Small address book
  • Vaseline Lip Therapy pocket size tin
  • M.A.C Lipglass in "Lust"
  • Bloom Lipgloss in "Bordeaux"
  • Rimmel Vinyl Lipgloss in "Crystal"
  • Rimmel Vinyl Lipgloss in "Snog"
  • M.A.C "Seductions" compact with 6 lipglosses
  • Vaseline Intensive Care Hand & Nail Lotion
  • Six Panadeine tablets
  • Silver metal business card holder with 48 cards (all mine)
  • Three pens (two black, one blue)
  • Glasses case
  • Sunglasses
  • Compact mirror
  • Two tampons
  • Small pocket size Charles Worthington hairspray
  • Four bobby pins
  • Orange piece of paper with a handwritten recipe for Chocolate Fudge*
  • Two, ten trip bus tickets (one used)
  • Three coffee cards (buy 10 get one free deals)
  • Dark red leather JAG wallet with $31.25 cash, two credit cards, a Cashpoint card, library card, drivers license, Flybuys card, Air New Zealand frequent flyer card, Moore Wilsons card, Dymocks Booklovers card
  • One pink paperclip
  • Two receipts ($23.00 for Kerastase shampoo and $4.50 for a card)

Do you think I might need to downsize? How many lipglosses do I really need with me? No wonder my right shoulder is sometimes sore. I'm carting around a lot of crap!

*Chocolate Fudge

In a saucepan, melt 1 c sugar, 1/3 c cocoa, 1 tblsp golden syrup, 125 g butter, ¼ c milk. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add 1 tsp vanilla extract and 2 ½ c sifted icing sugar. Mix well and pour into a greased tin. Cut while warm.

For just one day, I'd really like to be Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham.

Sure, she's far too thin, is orange due to perma-tan, constantly looks grumpy, and is on the verge of having a "trout pout".

But, she's married to the lovely and gorgeous, David Beckham.

And occasionally she wears something that I think is really stylish.

Today, it's this fantastic red dress, teamed with cool shoes and a great bag.

I want it.
